# Portfolio Text The **Portfolio Text Field** feature enables the creation and management of text fields specific to portfolios. These fields can be used in reports, but they are specifically tied to portfolio-level data. This allows for flexibility in adding content that is relevant only to specific portfolios on each period, ensuring personalised or portfolio-specific information in reports. Portfolio text fields are created and managed specifically for portfolios, allowing for further customisation and flexibility in the content shown for each portfolio. Similar to global text fields, portfolio text fields can be defined for specific periods (e.g., **Monthly** or **Quarterly**) for better targeting of content in reports. ### Get Started Go to the Portal and navigate to **Fields > Portfolio** on sidebar. Open the Add Field panel to start creating. You will be asked to enter Field Name, and select the period for which the text field applies (**monthly** or **quarterly**).

{% hint style="warning" %} Similar to other text fields, the Field Name should be unique. If you have a field named **"Portfolio Field A"**, you can't use that name again on new field unless updated to another name. {% endhint %} ### Manage Field Values Once you have defined the field, you can start adding contents to the field. On the fields table, click on **Edit Values** button. Next open the Add New Commentary panel and fill the form. You will be asked to enter the period — Select month (January to December), or Q1-Q4 (if the field period is Quarterly), select which Portfolio Model this content should applies, and lastly add the content. {% hint style="info" %} Please note that you can only add one content per portfolio and period (monthly or quarterly). {% endhint %}
