# Global Text The **Global Text Field** feature enables the creation and management of text fields that can be applied across multiple reports, similar to regular text fields. These fields are particularly useful when you need consistent content to appear across various reports based on specific periods (e.g., monthly or quarterly). This allows for more targeted management of text content based on the reporting period. Just like the generic text fields, global text fields can be edited or deleted when necessary. ### Get Started To begin, go to the Portal and navigate to **Fields > Global** on sidebar. Open the Add New Field panel to start creating. You will be asked to enter Field Name, and select the period for which the text field applies (**monthly** or **quarterly**).

{% hint style="warning" %} Similar to generic text fields, the Field Name should be unique. If you have a field named **"Commentary Field A"**, you can't use that name again on new field unless updated to another name. {% endhint %} ### Manage Field Values Once you have defined the field, you can start adding contents to the field. On the fields table, click on **Edit Values** button. Next open the Add New Commentary panel and fill the form. You will be asked to enter the period — Select month (January to December), or Q1-Q4 (if the field period is Quarterly), and the content for that period. {% hint style="info" %} Please note that you can only add content one per period (monthly or quarterly). {% endhint %}
