# Quickstart

This page will help you get familiar with the layout, key features, and first steps when logging in.

### Dashboard

When you first log in, you arrive on the **Dashboard**, which provides a quick snapshot of your reporting environment.

The Dashboard is divided into four main panels:

* **Report Overview**\
  Displays the number of active reports by type:
  * **Portfolio Summaries (Advice Documents)** – Ad hoc reports, can be run any day.
  * **Monthly Factsheets** – Automated reports with sensible defaults for end-of-month cycles.
  * **Quarterly Reports** – Longer, commentary-driven reports, typically issued once per quarter.
* **Manage Portfolios**\
  Quick access to the portfolios (or funds) you manage:
  * **All** – Full list of portfolios/funds.
  * **Synced** – Automatically updated via Quant Reports pipelines.
  * **Custom** – DIY portfolios/funds where holdings or returns may be uploaded manually.
  * **Archived** – Retired models, kept for compliance.
  * **Export** – Download data for reporting or external systems.
* **Notifications**\
  Highlights any data issues that may block reporting. Examples include:
  * Invalid entities
  * Invalid investments
  * Portfolios/funds requiring sync
  *
* **History (Audit Trail)**\
  A timeline of changes — who edited what and when. This ensures compliance and accountability.

At the top-right corner of the Dashboard, you’ll also see the **last sync timestamp**, showing when data was last refreshed.

### Navigation Menu

On the left-hand side of the screen is the **navigation menu**, grouped into sections:

* [**Reports (Report Studio)**](/docs/reports/advice-documents.md) — Generate and manage reports: Portfolio Summaries, Monthly Factsheets, and Quarterly Reports.
* [**Manage (Data Studio)**](/docs/manage/portfolios.md) — Maintain portfolios/funds, investments, entities, asset classes, attribution, and shadow models.
* [**Data (Data Warehouse)**](/docs/data/holdings.md) — Upload and validate holdings, returns, benchmarks, media assets, and sync processes.
* [**Fields and Widgets**](/docs/fields/text.md) — Manage reusable rich contents that will be shown on the reports.
